Flynn as a baby

Flynn  is our wonderful black and white bicolour oriental Stud boy .  He is a total softie, and as well as being very handsome, he also has an outstanding pedigree. He fathered his first litter when he was  just eight months old, and made  a wondeful show debut at six months old, but sadly intensely dislikes being shown ,so we respect his wishes ,as we want him to be happy, and who knows, perhaps one of his offspring will  do well on the show bench !

Flynn licking his lips after enjoying some nice warm chicken breast

Although he was originally, (due to his pedigree name) called Harly, We decided to call him Flynn, as I love old black and white movies, and especially as he is himself is black and white , and a total heart throb .With parted, sleek ,black hair.... we thought a romantic film star name would suit him perfectly, and so, he is named after  the legendary Hollywood movie star of the 1930's , 40's and 50's, Errol Flynn .

Sincere  thanks to Richard & Lyn Bruton for letting us have this special boy.

Alot of thought and research wet into the design of our  stud quarters. I wanted a structure that was compatible with the space we had available, our budget, but  also and most importantly, I didn't want my beloved boys far away from me,when they  spent every second since joining our family within our home, with us and our other cats .

From our lounge we can see into the cattery through the window, and also into the run. Likewise,  The boys can see us too, so that they don't have to feel isolated or lonely, even though they always have feline company.

They now have a lovely sleeping area and attached run to play in.There's also a seperate two storey queens quarters within the sleeping area for visitting queens to lodge in.

Phase  two,(after fininshing insulating ,lining with UPVC sheeting, and adding lighting etc was to attach the current structure to our house , thus creating another large run space, which can be utilised in a variety of ways.

It can be either as a large  extension of the boys' present run area, when the run door is open, but patio doors are closed. If they are are open , they can freely interact with us, and come and go between the main house and the  batchelor pad .Our other cats can also use the attached run area for safe play in the fresh air, and communicate with the boys through the mesh doors, so none of them have to lose touch. We are afterall a family!

Special thanks to Mayfield farm, based in Scunthorpe, for building and erecting our cattery to our own specifications and design.

If you are considering having a run, cattery, kennel , stable or similar constructed, We would definately recommend them, as so many companies charge the earth for even the most modest of structures. Our cattery was also delivered and erceted on- site free of charge.

Mayfield farm have banks of three catteries available for £595(9ft x 9ft), or six for £995 , and are more than happy to discuss your own  requirements.
